Medical Marijuana – Cannabis Gets Out of the Closet
Want to talk about a controversial topic? Try mentioning medical marijuana. Let’s begin the conversation.
The marijuana plant has hundreds of chemicals, known as cannabinoids. The two main ones are THC and CBD. (We support the use of CBD Oil as a treatment for numerous neurological conditions.) THC gives some of the pleasurable effects that pot smokers want. It also has some effects that may treat medical problems.
Medical marijuana may help ease pain, nausea, and loss of appetite in people who have cancer and HIV. The research on these areas is mounting. As of right now the evidence in favor is mounting. The studies on CBD Oil are more extensive. CBD oil is legal in all 50 states making the research more extensive.
Recent research suggests medical marijuana may cut down seizures in people with epilepsy. Some studies show it also may ease the symptoms of MS. Symptoms like muscle stiffness and spasms, pain, and frequent urination. I’ve personally used CBD Oil for my own neurological conditions. The effects have been amazing.
Some studies suggest medical marijuana may help relieve seizures. Especially in children with hard-to-treat epilepsy. A type of medical marijuana known as “Charlotte’s Web” may help kids. It won’t get them high, because the strain has very little THC.
